About Ampumuzza Mixed Farm.
Ampumuzza means “He gives me rest.” The name is rooted in Genesis 26:22 and the continuing purpose of this place: rest.
A working farm first
Ampumuzza is a working, family-run eco mixed farm, with coffee, livestock, poultry, crops, soil care, and distinctive projects tended through organic farming practices.
The refuge grew out of the farm, not the other way round. The sense of peace here made us realise we could make room for you to stay, visit, gather, and learn.
What we believe
Rest is not laziness. Land, looked after honestly, looks after you in return. The stays, gatherings, mentorship programmes, and products stem from these convictions.
The family behind the farm
Ampumuzza is run by Mr George Mbogga-Mukasa and Dr Barbara Mbogga-Mukasa. George brings an information technology background; Barbara brings experience in medicine and public health. Their scientific knowledge, technical know-how, and hands-on work inform the farm’s focus on sustainability, efficiency, and productivity.
Their Christian faith shapes the farm’s welcome and their commitment to caring for others. That faith and their professional experience also ground Eden Inspired Men, their mentorship for boys and young men, alongside the quarterly Iron Table for men.
